INDONESIAN-AMERICAN
SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH

Meet Pastor I. Sinaga

Background & Calling
Pastor I. Sinaga chose to follow the call to ministry at a young age, beginning pastoral service at just 17 years old. His journey has taken him through roles as a campus chaplain, clinic chaplain, school teacher, youth leader, youth pastor, district pastor, and lead pastor across the Philippines and Indonesia. After some significant life circumstances, he stepped away from full-time ministry to work in the tech industry as a cloud analyst and later a software engineer—while still leading a church part time. After four years, he clearly sensed God’s call back into full-time pastoral ministry and has since committed himself to serving the Lord wholeheartedly until Christ’s return.

Ministry Journey
He has been with the Indonesian-American SDA Church for a year and a half, focusing on building up the church community, helping individuals find healing, and spreading the message of Jesus Christ in these final days.

Passion in Ministry
Pastor I. Sinaga is especially passionate about digital evangelism, youth empowerment, music ministry, and discipleship. While always striving to grow in every area of ministry, he feels called to help others encounter Christ through creative and modern means as well as traditional spiritual care.

Favorite Verse
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” – Galatians 2:20
"So much of ministry is denying of one’s self for others. BUT also letting Christ lives in us. Often, I want to think about my own efforts, and how I can contribute to the working of God in the church but it is a realization that also that God does not need me to expand HIS work. He does not need of what I am, He just wants me to be available for Him. I’d also think that once it is Christ in us those rejections, distrusts, the hurt that people could send our way means nothing to the glory and the thought of knowing that I am loved by God whether the world accepts me or not."

Fun Facts
He describes himself as energetic, slightly hyperactive, and sometimes random in his approach—never a “normative” pastor, but one who’s willing to journey with people through all seasons of life.
